The Gospel According to Mark Pt. 1

The Gospel According to Mark Intro from Downtown Cornerstone Church on Vimeo.

Got the privilege to be involved in the making of the intro video for Downtown Cornerstone’s next sermon series going through the Gospel of Mark. It was fun to “play” actor! I also composed, played, and recorded the song for this video. There will be a few more as we progress through the gospel of Mark and I plan to link the music together, with each video musically starting where the last left off, and in the end it will be on larger piece of music.

People involved in this video: Peter Isaza, Leah Dankertson, Chelsey Scheffe, Jose Guillen, Cyrus Soheili, and William West.

Looking forward to working on the next one!

Brady’s Story Part 1

Brady’s Story // part 1 from MOOR pictures on Vimeo.

I met Josh riding around Seattle while he was here for a little while. He asked me a few months ago if he could use one of my songs of my bandcamp for a video he was making. A few months later and this gem pops up on my Facebook. Great work Josh! Check out more of his videos ,a href= http://vimeo.com/moorpictures>here.

TUNES TUESDAY

A late one, but still making it a Tunes Tuesday.

Enjoy. “Get another head and get on with your life.”

SATURDAY SLOW DOWN

It’s pouring rain outside here in Seattle, and most likely you had a long week working. So take a few minutes to listen, relax, and enjoy some beautiful music.

TUNES TUESDAY

Bjork for you pleasure.

You’ll be given love
You’ll be taken care of
You’ll be given love
You have to trust it

Maybe not from the sources
You have poured yours
Maybe not from the directions
You are staring at

Tunes Tuesday – Sigur Rós

The newest video and preview from their upcoming album – Brennisteinn. Pre-order the album, Kveikur, here.

Sigur Rós has the most amazing ability to have their music videos seem like films. Most likely because they are fantastically cinematic and use actual film directors, but it’s something that I find so intriguing. Below is another one of their music videos I’ve become fascinated with from their Valtari Mystery Film Experiment.

BEACH DREAMS

This is just too funny to not post. I miss the beach. Thankfully, I live only a few blocks away from a lake that is swim-able in the summer. Rocks are not the same as sand, but they also don’t stick all over you either. Looking forward to warmer days, they are just around the corner.

Photo from Wes Anderson’s latest film, Moonrise Kingdom in case you didn’t already know.  My current obsession for a few reasons.

Okay so pretty much every single aspect of the movie! I love that my blog posts about things are a year after they have been out. I am certainly not the most current, but always relevant!

MUSIC MONDAY

HELLO DARKNESS MY OLD FRIEND

ONE RIGHTEOUS MAN

Here is a rendition of One Righteous Man I composed for my my church, Downtown Cornerstone. It sounds much better with the full band and strings! Also, I don’t sing on Sundays so that part is better as well, but I hope you enjoy it none the less.

ALPAGE RECORDS – TUNES TUESDAY

I stumbled across Alpage Records and Tamara Goukassova whilst viewing work from my favorite digital artists, Julien Pacaud. This also counts as your tunes tuesday.

His work is a collage of vintage photos, space, and geometry into images that are captivating and weird (my kind of guy!) He did the album artwork for Tamara’s last 7″ limited edition vinyl as you can see in the video. I love the clear vinyl and the hand stamping they did. Below is another video from Alpage Records for artist Antoine Pesle that caught my eye. I like this record label; they are weird.
