HUNT 4

Hunt 4 from Deux North on Vimeo.

The shots with rolling fog are amazing. Love the bikes, love Deux North.

“Riding up the coast of California from Santa Cruz, Deux North’s 8 riders test a new bike built for every kind of road. After 2 days and 200 miles, the group meets the story’s narrator, El Chapulin (The Grasshopper) to listen to his story, tell their own, and compete in an event that he created over 15 years ago. On the final day. the 100-mile Grasshopper Adventure Series race serves as the finish line for Deux North’s Hunt 4. #SeekandDiverge

NOBODY LOVES JOEL ROMEO

This is a great short documentary of a Ballard legend. Joel Romeo used to frequent Blackbird all the time when I worked there. I wish I had taken the time and effort to get to know him a little better. I love his drawings and comics, and his always smiling face. Make sure you go vote for this video – here.

IMPERIAL MOTION // REFLECTIVE

Imperial Motion // Reflective from Imperial Motion on Vimeo.

Spencer of Imperial Motion asked me to help out for their new reflective line by riding around at night and having some fun; I couldn’t say “no” to that. The end result is really cool and the product looks great! You can get the Highway Strap Back Hat and the Mercer Denim in Raw Grey on their webstore. See images below and product info below.

Highway Strap Back Hat - 100% Polyester reflective strap back hat with printed Velcro patch at center front, self strap back closure with zipper adjuster, flag woven label at back. Fully reflective material for high visibility at night.

Mercer Denim in Raw Grey - 98% Cotton 2% Spandex 5 pocket denim pant in a slim straight fit. The Mercer Denim features a raw grey denim, signature IM back pocket embroidery, signature back leather patch under waistband, front rivets at stress points, button fly, custom metal detailing, and our signature 3M printed inner cuff that reflects headlights, camera flashes, and other natural and artificial light.

These products are available now and the rest of the fall line will be up early July.

Shape Field Chair

This thing is so sick. Great design, great execution of design, and practical, and I must say I love the logo design. Here is what their Kickstarter has to say:

“THE DESIGN – Reduced, reliable and comfortable. These are the attributes we strove for as we designed and developed the Field Chair.

It is reduced—weighing in at under 4 pounds even with the #8 duck heavyweight waterproof canvas. The parts have been minimized to the essentials: the hinges are made from the same part repeated and held together with a military strength axle. The bent tubular legs are also identical.

It is reliable—we found the right balance of strength and flexibility in the hinges and legs. The materials and finishes have all been chosen to wear well as they are used in the great outdoors. The legs and hinges will be hard anodized to resist scratching and dings. The waxed canvas will resist rain, withstand abrasion and patina nicely over time.

It is comfortable—the most important feature of a chair, surprisingly not always the top priority of chair manufacturers. The Field Chair flexes to a comfortable angle when sat in but still provides plenty of support, it is wide and sits low to the ground—all desirable traits for a relaxed outdoor experience.”
