Why Get Creative?

I feel that most companies know that hiring out to creative agencies is an integral part of business, but so often I see large companies not getting the high level of work done for their marketing. These videos were shared with me and they are great. Creative and intriguing.

Notes on Blindness

Capture

“I should also say, that this is an experience of beauty… Instead of being isolated, cut off, pre-occupied internally, you are presented with a world. You’re related to a world. You’re addressed by a world. Why should this experience strike one as being beautiful? Cognition is beautiful. It’s beautiful to know.”

Notes on Blindness (click to watch the video) is a op doc featuring the details of what losing your sight is like.

“In the summer of 1983, following a decade of steady deterioration, writer and theologian John Hull lost all traces of light sensation. For three years he kept a diary on audiocassette – over sixteen hours in total – a unique and insightful meditation on memory, consciousness and perception.

The diaries were published in 1991 and met with wide critical acclaim. The neurologist Oliver Sacks described the work as “the most extraordinary, precise, deep and beautiful account of blindness I have ever read. It is, to my mind, a masterpiece”.

INTO DARKNESS uses John’s original recordings, never before heard in public, brought to life by striking cinematography, verbatim reconstructions and creative use of archive footage. The result is a unique and cinematic amalgamation of documentary and drama, taking the viewer into the strange and insular world of blindness.” Seen originally on NYTIMES. The filmmakers, Peter Middleton and James Spinney, are also looking to make a full length of this.

Making of a Champion: Seattle Seahawks

I had heard a lot about this video, but just finally got around to watching it. With all the press and publicity that the Seahawks are getting this season, what a blessing this video is. I love seeing men who are the best at something top level yet count it as loss but a vapor. Yet God and His word are solid and the one thing to build our identities on. Enjoy.

Hold Fast – Be Still

tylerholdfast from chris clappe on Vimeo.

Here is my latest edit for Hold Fast. Since getting a new job at the start of summer this year, I have not gotten out to ride and film as much as I used to, but I am quite happy with how this turned out. Big thanks to Chris Clappe and Kareem Shehab for filming it for me and to Hold Fast for their support. 2013 was a big year for me in many ways off the bike, and I’m excited to continue seeing where God’s plan takes me.

I also recently dropped prices on my Be Still tee shirts (seen in almost every clip hahah). You can pick yours up here.
